The Rotary Club of Housatonic Valley is one of over 32,000 Rotary Clubs in 169 countries.  Worldwide, there are more than 1.2 million Rotarians.  These members share a belief in Rotary's motto: "Service above Self."

 

Rotary is an organization of business people who provide world, promote high ethical standards in all vocations and seek to build peace through understanding, among the diverse peoples of the world.

 

Click on the Four Avenues of Service on the left side of this page, and you will see some of the many projects that the Rotary Club of Housatonic Valley undertakes to accomplish its goals. 

 

We're a small club but we're big on service. With over 20 projects that we enjoy anually, there is something for everyone! For example:

 

 

1. Rotary Holiday Party and gift exchange

2. Paper shred and recycle w/Danbury Sunrise

    a.Poster placement day and bbq. (Pres. Bob's Kielbasa)

    b.Event day with 2 trucks Milt

3.  Fun Bowl annual event

4.  Brook's Quarry Senior Citizen's housing holiday party with Billy Michael

5.  Squire Court holiday party

6.  Brookfield concert in the park with Higher Higher

7.  High School Scholarship

8.  High School Student Of The Month

9.  Whisconier Middle School Student Of The Month

10. Bethel High School Interact

11. Hospice breakfast

12. Various Lyme disease awareness and education events

13. Production and distribution of Lyme disease tick kits

14. Chamber of Commerce support and attend events

15. Donation of books to WMS library

16. World Affairs Seminar student sponsorship

17. Sponsoring Jaime Randle to participate in GSE

18. Donation of Books to inner city schools (obtained from Paperback Exchange)

19. Dictionary Literacy projects for all 3rd graders.

20. Rotary History day at the archives (Alex's Barn)

21. Attended or were represented at:

     a. District conference

     b. District Assembly

     c. NE PETS

     d. Multiple Area 3 Presidents' meetings

     e. Multiple board meetings

     f.  Various committee meetings
